Jess C. Bravek

Jess Bravek was born to Charles and Minnie Bravek in November 1920. He had two brothers: Paul and Leon. He also had four sisters: Georgia, Alice, Darlene, and Blanche. Jess farmed with his folks until he was drafted.

Army Corp. Jess C. Bravek served in the Army for about three years as a member of the 34th Tank Battalion, 5th Armored Division. Corporal Bravek was killed August 21, 1944. He died on the battlegrounds of France.

Bravek was buried at Plot B, Row 7, Grave 3, Brittany American Cemetery, St. James, France. He was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.
