EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
The Michael J. Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home (Home) is taking preventive measures to ensure continued care for our residents in a safe and healthy environment.

Restrictions have changed to “NO VISITORS ALLOWED” until further notice.

All activities provided by outside volunteer groups have been cancelled until further notice.

Activities

In addition to individual activities, members may choose to participate in group activities planned by the Activities Department. Many enjoy outings such as picnics, touring the Black Hills, fishing, shopping trips, parades, horse shows, rodeos, nature walks, campouts at Custer State Park, hayrides, pontoon rides, attending performances at the Black Hills Playhouse, hunting, trap shooting, trail rides, bowling, attending the Buffalo Round Up, trips to Deadwood and Prairie Winds Casino, attending a PowWow, attending the Sturgis Motor Cycle Rally or races at the Black Hills Speedway.   

The busy calendar of activities at the Veterans’ Home includes ice cream socials on the porch, birthday parties, dances, holiday parties, slide shows, movies and theatrical productions. Musical ministry presentations, western music, piano recitals and sing-a-longs are some of the many musical events scheduled.
