This site is dedicated to the tens of thousands of South Dakota men and women who contributed to the victory in World War II. Today, we know them as our parents, grandparents and great-grandparents.
Back then, they totally stopped their young lives and careers, devoted several years of hard work away from their families and endured enormous sacrifices so that we are able to live in the freedom that we enjoy so much today and too many people now take for granted.
